The Response

The sun sets over Kingston avenue.

A rusty festival

On the western horizon.

Nails of sharp sun rays

Copulate with the dirt and smog

that we religiously fart

Into the sky.

The response?

A ailing mother earth and

A beautiful circus of

Reds, purples and orange

as the sun sets.

yes she’s so beautiful in her ailing…we just don’t seem to learn..a creative take on the prompt..

  2. brian says:

some interesting choices of word usage…ha, not too many poems with fart in them but you pull it off…like the use of copulate as well…i feel for her, our mother…

  3. Ramesh Sood says:

    A beautiful poem this!!

  4. tashtoo says:

Okay…Brian stole my thoughts again! So we’ll insert his comment here…and add the fact I thought the snapshot was wonderful, and I love how our Mother keeps bringing beauty to the forefront, season after season, despite our efforts to keep it from happening!

  5. Heaven says:

i like your unique take for our mother earth…yes, we fart and dirty her air….

    happy halloween ~

  6. Morning says:

amazing, visiting from one single impression.

mother earth is full of grace, we each take it differently yet beautifully.

  7. I like the disrespect in the word fart, speaks volumes. Of course I would never.
