Believe or die…

Bang bang!!
A army of prophets shoot
at our innocent souls.
Forcing God into a box
They hurl rules at our free spirits
Caging free thought,

look at them.

Dictating to me,
the design of my relationship
with the Creator

A vital part of the bigger illusion

  1. brian miller says:

ha, nice spin you put us in with that last line….and we have def been trying to put god in a box from day one…to have her do our bidding…

  2. claudia says:

yep…horrible things happened in the name of god…when i just think about the crusades… a matter with whom.. can never be forced… it’s just not real then..and they should’ve known.. hope we learned a bit from all the mistakes we made..

  3. Laurie Kolp says:

Tolerance and respect is becoming a thing of the past, I’m afraid. Great poem, Quaz!

  4. Chazzy Chazz says:

I can only hope that the Enlightement has done its work and laid to rest any notion thatbhumans don’t project their ungodly sentiments and designs into an appeal that calls them to act beyond those limited designs. We live in an age fanaticism and I fear thatbthe post-enlightenment era will see the work of the brave spirits of freedom come under attack. While I agree that one can hope that crusades and other religiously motivated movements are past, recent events do not make me optimistic. It’s just that they’ve moved into the secular political realm, which makes them even more dangerous since they acquire an odd form of legitimacy.

  5. Sheila says:

Love this. I believe God is as each individual understands him not as groups of people define him for others.

  6. booguloo says:

I can empathize with your feelings and experience.

  7. poetrydiary says:

I felt it would be OK to shoot back….

  8. Taylor says:

quite apt thoughts in term of relationship and illusions.

    well done work.

  9. Jinksy says:

I too don’t believe God can be put in a box, or put each of us in one, either!
